Online Business Permits and Licences: Find Online Business Permits and Licences through BizPa, a web-based service that allows businesses to easily generate a customized list of the permits and licences they require from three levels of government - local, provincial and federal - by answering some simple, generic questions about the business.

Business Licensing

The Town of Smithers supports and encourages new businesses. In addition, the Town must also look after the health, safety and liability of the public. We hope that by explaining some of the issues and concerns in advance, we will be able to help you understand the process of applying for a business licence and be able to process your application quickly.

Business Signage

The Town of Smithers encourages all businesses to identify their business with appropriate signage. Businesses are also encouraged to incorporate elements of the Alpine Theme and Form and Character Development Permit Area Guidelines into the signage design.
