Business Signage

The Town of Smithers encourages all businesses to identify their businesses and utilize the acceptable Alpine Theme.

SIGN PERMIT APPLICATION, HIGHWAY ENCROACHMENT APPLICATION AND HIGHWAY LICENCE OF OCCUPATION AGREEMENT:

All businesses wishing to erect new signage must complete the Application for Sign Permit and pay the required fees.

Sandwich Board Signs on sidewalks or boulevards require a Highway Licence of Occupation Agreement.

Canopy, Marquee and Projecting Signs over the road right-of-way require a Highway Encroachment Agreement.

These types of signs also require the Town of Smithers to be listed as "Additionally Insured" on the Business' insurance.

All Sign Permit Applications must be signed by the Property Owner.
