The Recreation, Parks & Culture Department is responsible for the planning and development of recreational activities and special events for the Town of Smithers. The Town works in partnership with community groups and consults with residents to affirm our core values and to establish and achieve recreation programming which meets the needs of the community.

Civic Centre Arena

The Civic Centre (widely known as the Arena) is used for everything from hockey practice to high school graduation ceremonies.

Riverside Municipal RV Park & Campground

The park, operated by the Town of Smithers, is a safe and quiet place to relax and enjoy wonderful views, a beautiful river, and a laid back approach to camping.

Multiplex Feasbility Study 2009-2010

In January of 2009, Town Council approved the undertaking of a feasibility/business plan for a possible future recreation multiplex.
