Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Town of Smithers is currently not accepting Delegation requests for in-person presentations at Council Meetings. Please submit a written letter addressed to Council, the Wednesday prior to the meeting date, to be included in the upcoming agenda package. Thank you for your understanding.

Smithers Municipal Council may hear two delegations per Council meeting. Each delegation is given up to five minutes to make their presentation to Council, after which Council members may or may not ask questions or provide comment with respect to the information presented. Delegations are accepted on a first come, first served basis. Once the two-delegation limit is met, additional requests are put forward to the next available Council meeting.

In order to appear as a delegation you must fill out an application form and submit it to Administration at the Municipal Office at:

or by fax at 847-1601. You can also contact Administration for assistance at 847-1600.

Requests to appear as a Delegation before Council must be received in Administration by 4:00pm of the Tuesday prior to the Council meeting.

Council meetings begin at 6:30pm and Delegations are usually heard at the beginning of the meeting.
