News Release #21-02: Chief Administrative Officer Resigns

SMITHERS – The Town of Smithers has accepted with regret the resignation of Chief Administrative Officer, Alan Harris. Mr. Harris is resigning for personal reasons.
“Over the past eighteen months I have come to enjoy Smithers, all it has to offer, and wish the Community all the best moving forward,” Harris said.
Mr. Harris joined the Town in August 2019 and brought with him a high level of professionalism, energy and new ideas. “It has been a pleasure to work with Mr. Harris and I wish him all the best in his future,” said Mayor Gladys Atrill. “We will miss his creative thinking, dedication to the job, and ability to tackle difficult issues.”
Mr. Harris will remain in his role until April 30th, 2021, at which time Director of Corporate Services, Ms. Dianna Plouffe, will move to the role of Acting C.A.O. while Council seeks permanent replacement.
