Public Notice: Permissive Tax Exemption

In accordance with Sections 224 and 227 of the Community Charter, the Town of Smithers is proposing to adopt  "Bylaw 1846: 2019 Permissive Tax Exemptions”. Proposed Bylaw 1846 amends “Bylaw 1799: 2017, 2018 and 2019 Permissive Tax Exemptions” by adding in the following property as exempt for the 2019 tax year. First 3 readings of Bylaw 1846 will occur at the September 25th, 2018 Regular Council meeting.

The "Estimated Annual Value of the Permissive Tax Exemptions" is the estimated amount of property taxes that would be imposed on the property if it was not exempt. The value of the annual tax exemption has been calculated using 2018 property tax rates.
