POSITION TITLE:     Utility Operator
DEPARTMENT:         Operations
HOURS OF WORK:   Casual (on an as-needed basis)

HOURLY RATE:         $34.96 - $38.95 (2024)


GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

Reporting to the Director of Operations the Utility Operator is responsible for participating in a variety of utility installation and maintenance functions such as storm sewer, sanitary sewer wastewater collection systems, and water distribution systems. This is a casual position with working hours on an as-needed basis.

Qualifications include:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Water Distribution I-III
  • Wastewater Collection Level I (EOCP)
  • BC Driver’s License Class 3 with air 
  • First Aid Level 1
  • WHIMIS
  • 1-5 years experience in operation, maintenance and installation of municipal services, or an equivalent of education, training, and experience
  • Experience with shoring, chlorine handling considered an asset.
