HOURLY RATE: Parks Personnel I $34.96 / Arena Worker I $33.71
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
This is a hybrid position in which the incumbent works part-time as an Arena Worker in the fall/winter months and full-time as a Parks Personnel during the spring/summer months.
The Arena Worker I, performs a variety of maintenance and operational functions such as building maintenance and janitorial, operating ice resurface machines, ice making, and refrigeration plant operation as per Technical Safety British Columbia (TSBC) certification. Evening and weekend availability is required.
The Parks Personnel I, performs a variety of labour and maintenance functions for Town parks and boulevards and assists in other Works and Operations areas.
Qualifications include:
• High school graduation;
• Valid Class 5 BC Drivers License;
• Level 1 First Aid, CPR, Defibrillation, WHMIS;
• Refrigeration Safety Awareness, Ice Facility Operator Certification or Power Engineering Class 5 with refrigeration, ice-making certificate;
• 2 years of Arena Building Maintenance;
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
