In accordance with Section 26 of the Community Charter, the Town of Smithers intends to dispose of the following lands to Alpine Lakes Air Ltd. at the Smithers Regional Airport to amend their current lease (to expire December 31, 2032) to expand their lease area by 4,477m2, and to permit the storage and dispensing of aviation fuel, for non-commercial purposes.
The additional rent for the expanded lease area of 4,477m2 will be set at $3.00 per square metres per month ($1,119.25 per month) for the first year in addition to the previously agreed upon rent ($1,566.70 per month) for the current lease area of 6,002.8m2. The rent is subject to a 2% increase per year, with the option to review rent rates every five years, for the duration of the lease.
