At its Regular Meeting on Tuesday, November 28th, 2023, beginning at 6:30 p.m., Smithers Town Council will consider the Development Variance Permit (DVP) application DV23-08 for 3852 First Avenue.

The owner is proposing to subdivide the existing parcel – which houses the Local Supply Co. building -- to create a new, 5.95m-wide lot for future development. Given that the width of the proposed lot is below the 7.0 m minimum parcel width established for C-1A Downtown Commercial zone, the Applicant’s request is to vary Table 5.2.2 of the Town of Smithers Zoning Bylaw No. 1936. Approval of the DVP application is necessary to enable the applicant to initiate the final subdivision process.

Anyone who believes they will be affected by the proposed variance permit is invited to submit written comments regarding the subject application. All written submissions must be received at the Town Office before 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 27th, 2023.
