At its Regular Meeting on Tuesday, September 27th, 2022, beginning at 6:30 pm, Smithers Town Council will consider the Development Variance Permit Application DV22-07 for 4921 Fourth Avenue, legally described as Lot B, Section 2, Township 1A Range 5 Coast District Plan PRP41699.

The subject property houses a single-family dwelling and a shop. The applicant is seeking to construct an attached carport on the Southeast side of the dwelling by extending the roofline outward over the paved side yard driveway and constructing posts on the property line. Hence, the DVP requests to vary Section 4.7.2 of Zoning Bylaw No. 1403, by reducing the minimum side yard setback for the principal structure on the subject property from 3.0 m to 0.0 m.

Anyone who believes they will be affected by the proposed variance permit is invited to submit written comments regarding the subject application. All written submissions must be received at the Town Office before 1:00 pm on Monday, September 26th, 2022. The meeting will be held in the Council Chambers at the Town Hall, 1027 Aldous Street, Smithers, BC and Facebook livestreamed at: https://www.facebook.com/Smithers.BritishColumbia/.
