The Bulkley Valley Regional Pool & Recreation Centre is a not-for-profit facility operated by the Bulkley Valley Aquatic Centre Management Society.
The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako owns the building and the land. An annual tax grant is provided from the Town of Smithers, Village of Telkwa and Rural Area “A” and is distributed through the Regional District. This tax grant provides about 65% of the operation budget, and the rest is generated from user pay services and programs.
The Bulkley Valley Museum is operated by the Bulkley Valley Historical & Museum Society. The Bulkley Valley Museum receives annual operational funding assistance from the Town of Smithers, the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako, and the Province of British Columbia
The Saltos Gymnastics Club is a not-for-profit organization that is governed by a volunteer board of directors and operated by a dedicated team of administrative and coaching staff. Throughout the years, the Saltos Gymnastics Club, has grown in size and programming. Today we offer competitive programming in men’s and women’s gymnastics, trampoline and cheer. And we are proud to offer a variety of recreational programming for toddlers all the way to adults.
The Smithers Curling Centre is a community oriented facility committed to promoting and providing affordable recreational opportunities for all people in the Bulkley Valley. Through sport, we welcome all ages and skill levels in a fun-filled, social, family environment where lifelong friendships are created.
The Smithers Art Gallery is located in the Central Park Building and is operated by the Smithers Gallery Association.
The Smithers Art Gallery is open year round hosting exhibitions every 4-5 weeks by local and regional artists. Artists are further supported by receiving professional artist fees for exhibiting in the gallery, an opportunity to participate in the on-site artisan shop and lead art workshops. Community members are invited to participate in adult art workshops, children’s after-school, spring and summer art camps. www.smithersart.org
