POSITION TITLE: Community Services Clerk (Clerk II)
HOURS OF WORK: Full-Time, 35 hours per week, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
HOURLY RATE: $31.30 (2025)
ABOUT SMITHERS

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Reporting to the Director of Community Services, the Community Services Clerk provides administrative support to all divisions within the Community Services Department, including Recreation, Community Safety, Communications, Transportation, and Town Committees. QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
• High school diploma
• Post-secondary diploma or degree in a relevant discipline such as Local Government Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, Office Administration, Communications, Records Management, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred).
Experience:
• Minimum two years administrative support experience, one of which in Local Government (preferred).
• Experience taking and preparing accurate meeting minutes with a high degree of attention to detail.
• An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
