The Town of Smithers' Council may hear two delegations per Council meeting. Each delegation is given up to ten minutes to make their presentation to Council, after which Council members may or may not ask questions or provide comment with respect to the information presented. Delegations are accepted on a first come, first served basis. Once the two-delegation limit is met, additional requests are put forward to the next available Council meeting.
In order to appear as a delegation you must fill out an application form and return by email or in person at Town Hall, 1027 Aldous Street or by fax at 847-1601. You can also contact Corporate Services for assistance at 847-1600.
Requests to appear as a delegation before Council must be received by Corporate Services by 4:30 p.m. of the Wednesday prior to the Council meeting.
Confirmation: Delegations are not confirmed until you are contacted by Corporate Services staff to confirm your place on the agenda.
Council meetings begin at 6:30pm and delegations are usually heard at the beginning of the meeting.
