The Annual Ice User Meeting is an important opportunity for arena user groups to come together and prepare for the upcoming ice season. Each year, representatives from local clubs, leagues, and community organizations gather to review scheduling, discuss priorities, and coordinate shared use of the facility.
The meeting provides a space to address key topics such as ice allocation, special events, maintenance timelines, and operational updates. It also allows user groups to raise concerns, share feedback, and collaborate on solutions that benefit everyone involved. By fostering open communication and planning ahead, the meeting helps ensure a smooth, organized, and successful arena season for all users.
Ice Availability and Booking Requests
Please note that due to limited staff capacity, the minimum requirement for ice booking requests is 72 hours (business days). Staff cannot guarantee last-minute online booking requests will be approved.

Looking for extra ice-time? Email recreation@smithers.ca with your name/organization and your contact information to get on the last-minute ice booking email list. Last-minute ice times are half the cost of regular ice times!
All rentals require the following:
- Rental Fees
- A minimum of $3 million dollars liability insurance is required on all rentals, listing the Town of Smithers as additionally insured. Depending on the nature of your booking/event, $5 million dollars might be required.

These items must be completed prior to your rental date.
