Unlock new housing opportunities in our community with free, online, gentle-density training offered by Small Housing Academy.
The online course - which is estimated to take 4 hours to complete - will be offered at an introductory level focusing on key topics that a single-family builder or owner needs to consider before embarking on their first gentle density project.
The training program will benefit builders and property owners interested in gentle density projects and is expected to support the creation of more housing stock in the community. This directly supports the Town of Smithers Strategic Priority to strive for adequate, appropriate, and diverse housing for all.
Next steps:
- Complete the registration form before October 27, 2026 to sign-up for the course: https://smallhousingbc.myabsorb.ca?KeyName=Smithers. Registration is free for the first 50 people who sign-up from the town of Smithers (a value of $260).
- Complete the course at your own pace over the next 6 months.
