POSITION TITLE: Director of Community Services
HOURS OF WORK: 35 hours per week
SALARY: $126,029.36 - $136,829.60 (commensurate with experience)

About this Oportunity:
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director of Community Services is responsible for guiding the Town of Smithers’ community-facing services to enhance well-being, safety, inclusion, and engagement within the municipality. This role oversees a broad portfolio including recreation and culture, community safety and bylaw enforcement, homelessness and social development, and public communications and engagement.
Essential Qualifications Include:
- Post secondary education (degree of diploma) in Recreation, Planning, or Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years experience in a senior leadership capacity overseeing community services or related functional areas within a municipal setting.
- Knowledge of the Community Charter and Local Government Act.
- Valid BC Driver’s License.
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
