Recreation Fees and Charges Update

The Town of Smithers is updating Schedule G of Bylaw No. 1941 – Fees and Charges (Recreation Fees and Charges) for 2025-2027. Recreation fees are reviewed on a three-year cycle to ensure they reflect rates in similar-sized communities and align with cost recovery practices. Proposed updates include a 3% annual fee increase to support these goals. These updates are required to take effect before the seasonal opening of Town fields, parks, and the Riverside Municipal Campground.

For the remaining 2024/2025 winter season, arena fees will remain unchanged. The updated fees will apply to all Town-owned recreation facilities including fields, ball diamonds, park use, Town meeting spaces, and Riverside Campground.
