The Town of Smithers has received an application from North Peak Athletic Therapy. for a Temporary Use Permit (TU25-02) for the property located at Unit #5, 3167 Tatlow Road (Schedule ‘A’), for a 3-year term.
The Applicant, North Peak Athletic Therapy, is proposing to operate a gymnasium at the subject location for strength and cardiovascular training, along with an Athletic Therapy clinic providing treatment for musculoskeletal injuries. The subject property is zoned M-2 Medium Industrial, and under section 6.2.1 of the Zoning Bylaw no. 1987, the proposed use is not permitted on the subject parcel – ‘either as an auxiliary or principal use’, and therefore the applicant is requesting for a 3-year TUP.
At its Regular Meeting on Tuesday, February 10th, 2026, beginning at 6:30 p.m., Smithers Town Council will consider the subject application. Anyone who believes they will be affected by the proposed Temporary Use Permit is invited to submit written comments regarding the application subject. All written submissions must be received at the Town Office before 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 9th, 2026.
