A Public Hearing will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Town Hall, 1027 Aldous Street, Smithers, BC, to consider the following Liquor License Amendment application:
| LC26-02: | The Smithers Golf and Country Club, located at 1200 Scotia Street, has applied to the Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch to replace its existing Liquor Primary Club License with a Liquor Primary License and to amend the liquor service area map. The proposed change would bring the club's long-standing operations into compliance with current licensing requirements and allow it to continue serving alcohol to the general public in areas of the subject parcel and building where liquor is currently served, with no changes to approved occupancy or operating hours. In addition, the Club will have internal policies for further regulating alcohol consumption within selected areas. |
PUBLIC INPUT: Anyone who believes they will be affected by the approval of the proposed application is invited to attend the Public Hearing to present verbal submissions to Town Council. Written submissions to be included on the Public Hearing agenda must be received either via email at general@smithers.ca, or mail/hand delivered to the Town Office by 1:00 p.m. on Monday August 10, 2026. The subject application and relevant background information is available at the links below or at the Town Office (1027 Aldous Street) Monday to Friday, excluding holidays, between 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. The meeting will be livestreamed on the Town’s Facebook Page.
